The theme of this international assembly of on-fire Millennials and youth along with those from other generations will be- “Receiving the Moravian Lampstand: Prayer + Missions.” The organizers are envisioning to bring together a projected estimate of 4,000 youth and young adult leaders for a 3-day destiny-engaging convergence which will be held at the ICC-MGK in North Jakarta, and an estimated 10,000 for the Solemn Assembly which will be held at the Stadium Area in Senayan.
Like the first global gathering in Korea, we believe that this will awaken the young “Davids” to fight against their generation’s “Goliaths,” and against the injustices in the nations. It will provoke them to wake up and do something. And we believe that the greatest injustice today remains to be this: that JESUS is not worshipped in the nations. We know that only Jesus can bring true justice. So, the UPRISING will not just be a call for the youth to gather in prayer, but it will be a call to battle from a place of extravagant worship and united prayer as we launch a global generation to a global harvest, all unto the hastening of the return of the Desired of nations: Jesus Christ!
We will also be locking arms with Indonesia as she is being released to her destiny at this hour. We will join her in contending for the ancient doors to open up, as we believe that it will be the key for the other ancient gates in the nations to open too, toward taking the gospel back to Jerusalem, and preparing the church to welcome the King of glory (Psalm 24:7-10)!
The Moravians once cried, “may the Lamb who was slain receive the due reward of His suffering.” In the spirit of the Moravians, we long to see the Church prepared for His coming again. It is our prayer that this gathering in Indonesia in January will be catalytic in awakening a generation in the nations to have a deep longing for Jesus’ return, and thus, align their lives unto that.
God is releasing a new wave of the Jesus Movement, of the Azusa Street Revival, of the Wales Revival, of the Moravian Revival on steroids… another great awakening is being sparked! This is the Psalm 24 generation that God has been waiting for. We hope you can join us in catalyzing these waves of youth-led global prayer and mission movements at the UPRISING, and together, let us labor for the Lamb to receive His inheritance in the nations.
Here is the latest video about the Global UPR which we would appreciate your sharing with your various networks and constituencies, especially the younger generation, encouraging them to take part in this life-changing, world-impacting gathering; all are welcomed to take part. Expecting 500,000, Ages 15-35. They want to keep the attendance down since the country itself is only 2 million.....But in the past they have far exceeded 1-2 million. It was begun by Pope John II in 1984. He imagined the youth encountering Christ, being introduced to Christ, and and learning from Christ how to be "bearers of the Gospel".
The Jesus Film will be represented during the conference as a tool for sharing the Gospel.
An outside glance of an international World Youth Day would spark a bystander’s curiosity as massive crowds of young people flood the city streets. Some might cringe at the thought of those words, wondering what delinquency is in store, but to witness this gathering would end those fears. The happenstance observer would witness not angst and malice, but smiles and joy, singing and dancing young people, culture upon culture and nation upon nation, proudly holding their flags high (or wearing them), greeting one another in peace, trading their tokens, humbly realizing how small they are in a world of people, and strengthened to witness so many who share their convictions. How did it all begin?
In 1984 at the close of the Holy Year of Redemption, over 300,000 young people from around the world responded to the invitation of His Holiness John Paul II for an International Jubilee of youth on Palm Sunday in St. Peter’s square. Looking out to the crowds who answered his invitation he said, “What a fantastic spectacle is presented on this stage by your gathering here today! Who claimed that today’s youth has lost their sense of values? Is it really true that they cannot be counted on?” It was at this gathering that the Holy Father entrusted to the youth what is now known as the World Youth Day Cross, to be carried throughout the world as a symbol of the love of Christ for humanity.
The following Palm Sunday, coinciding with the United Nation’s International Year of the Youth, Our Holy Father took the opportunity to welcome the youth of the world to Rome again. Later, announcing the institution of World Youth Day on December 20, 1985, and the first official WYD was held in 1986.
The following year brought about a new tradition when the second event and first international WYD took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Every Palm Sunday has since been designated as a World Youth Day, alternately celebrated at the diocesan and international levels. There have been 12 International World Youth Day celebrations, where the youth continue to answer the invitation of the Holy Father in staggering numbers and carry home the message received there to be Christ’s light to the world. While these events are organized by the clergy and laity of the Catholic Church, youth of all faiths are invited to attend and encounter Christ, making this gathering truly universal.
In Toronto, the last International WYD in which JPII was present he told the 800,000 gathered with him at the vigil, “When, back in 1985, I wanted to start the World Youth Days… I imagined a powerful moment in which the young people of the world could meet Christ, who is eternally young, and could learn from him how to be bearers of the Gospel to other young people. This evening, together with you, I praise God and give thanks to him for the gift bestowed on the Church through the World Youth Days. Millions of young people have taken part, and as a result have become better and more committed Christian witnesses.”
John Paul II left a legacy for the youth in his institution of World Youth Day, which Pope Benedict XVI has faithfully continued, carrying on the hope of His predecessor for the youth of the world, inviting them and commissioning them as Christ’s disciples to be faithful living witnesses.

Let’s pray for this huge gathering of young Catholics that they may encounter Jesus Christ Himself through what happens there and for the Jesus Film team that will be reaching out to them.

World Generation
Jakarta, Indonesia, January 23-26, 2019
Please pray for and consider taking part in this world youth prayer assembly in January. Here is a video and details to register. You will want to forward this to younger generation believers but anyone is welcome.
GO 2020 is a global vision to activate the whole Body of Christ – millions of individual believers, churches and large global ministries - to pray and share the Gospel all over the world in a joint effort of evangelism during the month of May 2020.
THE CALLING
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” Mt 9:37
The Great Commission is not an “optional assignment” for the Church. Yet 93% of church members never share the Gospel with others. GO 2020 aims to turn those numbers upside down … to pursue the following:
VISION
To activate and train every Christian believer, everywhere to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through a unique partnership effort involving many different denominations and parachurch organizations, this massive moment is meant to train and inspire every believer to live a lifestyle of evangelism.
GOALS
Mobilize 100 million Christians to share the Gospel during May 2020.
Reach 1 billion people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
1 million new churches, faith communities and small groups.
Disciple 20 million new believers and integrate them into existing and new churches.
HOW?
Through a strategic partnership network built over nearly a decade, GO 2020:
Encourages ordinary believers to share the Gospel through personal conversation and to demonstrate God’s love through prayer, caring, and sharing in numerous different ways.
Equips Churches with training and materials in evangelism, discipleship and church planting (see Resources).
Promotes Kingdom partnership as churches, denominations and ministries from many different backgrounds work together to reach the world (see Partner).
Invites every church to be part of a church planting initiative during the year 2020. Every church is planting a church – together we can establish 1 million new faith communities.
Makes the Gospel visible through thousands of “Jesus Celebrations”, GO 2020 Events, March for Jesus and more.
GO 2020 is a special edition of Global Outreach Day, which has been taking place every last Saturday of May since 2012. On this day, every year, believers worldwide have stepped out together in faith to share the Good News.
25 million believers have already participated in Global Outreach Day. To see what God has done, view Global Outreach Day testimonies.

Prayer Points Suggested for GO-2020:
Greetings and blessings from Bulgaria.
I’m writing this e-mail with a bit of a sadness since after many of our prayer efforts and political activities, we are heading straight back towards communistic regime regarding out religious freedom!
We expresses concerns over the current draft law put forward by Bulgaria’s parliament aiming at amending the Religious Denominations Act. If approved in its current form, it threatens to force evangelical churches and institutions to close or face unbearable and discriminatory administrative burdens.
The draft law which passed in first reading in parliament on October 11, 2018 has implications on the funding and financial management of religious communities as well as on the training and appointing of clergy. Should the law pass, existing theological seminaries are at risk of shutting down, evangelical church pastors may no longer be able to conduct worship services, and the acceptance and use of donations will be subject to government approval and limitations.
It puts unjustified and disproportionate restrictions on the right to freedom of religion or belief and is in direct violations of the democratic principles enshrined in Bulgaria’s constitution and in the legislation of the European Union, of which Bulgaria is a member since 2007.
Here is a summary of the main problems with the proposed legislation:
Only Bulgarian citizens will be able to carry out liturgical activity if they have had theological training in Bulgaria or their foreign school is approved.
Only Eastern Orthodox & Muslim believers will be able to train clergy and run schools.
A foreigner will only be able to preach if doing so with a Bulgarian ordained minister.
Foreign donations will only be allowed for building construction or social aid and will need government approval. No salaries of pastors for example could be paid from abroad.
No religious activities can take place outside of buildings designated for them.
Only religious groups with +300 people will have legal status.
We would like to ask you urgently to pray and encourage others to pray. There are other things that you can also do to help. All of this should be done in the next few days.
Contact the Bulgarian embassy in your nation and write to the politicians in Sofia. Write a short letter/email explaining the main problems in the proposed legislation as outlined above. Politely but firmly ask why Bulgaria would introduce legislation that is so excessive and also harmful to all faith communities. Demand that the legislative proposal be scrapped.
For those in EU Member States, write a short letter to the MEPs of your nation, explaining the main problems in the proposed legislation and asking them to speak urgently to their Bulgarian colleagues to ask why Bulgaria would introduce legislation that is so excessively controlling and would cause great difficulties for all faiths

There is very serious and heavy fighting going on in many areas in the country. The defence minister Tariq Shah Bahrami said that battles are ongoing in at least ten provinces in the country and that the level of threats are beyond the capabilities of government.
The battles are currently simultaneous going on especially in these provinces: Ghazni, Uruzgan, Faryab, Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pul, Kunduz, Badghis, Baghlan and some other areas.
On Wednesday Afghanistan’s Lower House of Parliament summoned the heads of the security institutions for the second time in a week on the situation in the country, particularly on Ghazni and Uruzgan provinces (where many Hazaras live).
The defence Minister made this sad statement: “To be honest, the level of threats is very high and the current facilities available to security and defence institutions is not enough to repel these threats. Afghanistan’s enemies are plotting to bring us to our knees. The enemies and supporters of enemies (neighbouring countries etc.) of the people of Afghanistan including the backers of terrorists have made their final plots to break our back.”
Another statement from the Minister of Interior Mr Barmak shows their desperation: “the minister of defence and myself remain busy on the telephone until 2am and 3am (daily); we call here and there to this and that commander and get updates on the situations, and the commanders shout for help.”
The Taliban have attacked and conquered several areas of the minority Hazara Shia community and it is feared that they will commit many atrocities there. Often the Taliban killed Hazaras and even targeted their mosques and schools. Thousands of Hazaras are fleeing their villages and many have come also to the capital.
This situation is like a desperate cry, from the ministers and commanders on the field and the people that are suffering and we are wondering that how long the Army is able to push back the Taliban.
Please pray with us urgently and strongly:
Thank you for standing in the gap for this embattled country. This has gone on for so long but we believe that as we earnestly pray for this country, once again we will see a breakthrough and a defeat of this that try to destroy this country. We believe that even this situation will turn around as we pray!

Dearest Pastors and Signatories,
The Accord Movement is growing daily! In the last 3 weeks we have had over 10,000 people visit our website with an average of 103 people signing daily. There are now more than 418 Pastors who have signed on worldwide. The Accord is becoming more and more International. In my first update, people from 20 Nations had signed on as of today that number has more than doubled going over 50. The top 5 nations and provinces are:
TOP 5 NATIONS
TOP CANADIAN PROVINCES
We have sensed that in order for this to become the global movement that we are sensing God wants it to be that we are needing to change the umbrella name to OneAccord.
BC will continue to operate under the name West Coast Christian Accord. But the movement will be called OneAccord from now on and the website will soon be converted over to www.oneaccord.one
We would hope to establish chapters across Canada and the world. I will be traveling to present OneAccord in Calgary and Edmonton early next month. Pastor Giulio will be presenting in Saskatchewan. I just now got off the phone with a key Pastor who was inquiring for Quebec. Bless the Lord. Ontario is right now in the planning stages for launching D21.
As we all know we are only days away from the municipal election. What I am finding is that there are so many people running in every municipality that people are genuinely confused about who is who, and their positions. NEWS1130 just sent out a voter position guide. I posted this on my own personal FB page - maybe you could too: https://www.citynews1130.com/2018/10/15/anti-sogi-endorsements/
You can also refer to letsvote.ca and elections.bc.ca
Over 3,199 committed Christians have signed the West Coast Christian Accord (WCCA), a declaration of covenant upholding Biblically-based truth on human identity, sexuality, marriage and the responsibility to protect all children.

Asia Bibi, a young mother of five who has spent 8 years behind bars unjustly accused of blasphemy against Muhammad by Muslim neighbors, has now been finally acquitted by Pakistan's Supreme Court of the charges against her. Friends who monitor the situation there now write:
"This is indeed good news, but now Asia Bibi, her whole family and the whole Christian community need much prayer cover, indeed anyone involved in this case, the judges, the lawyers, also the government. Several groups have already sworn to take revenge on the Christian community. One of our team members in Lahore was visiting family across the city because of a death in her family. She is caught there and cannot return as there are threats of riots and people have been told to stay inside their houses."
Another ministry leader who has spent his life working in that region wrote: "This is an important time to pray for Pakistan for different reasons. Now the Christian community is in danger of getting attacked and the extremists want to see revenge, but we should also pray that the government would back up the decision of the Supreme Court. This was a very encouraging and courageous ruling. There are many others still in prison for the same wrong charges."

Awesome new book on prayer and mission by an IPC leader

A Call for Patience and Persistence in Intercession and Mission
Our IPC colleague, Jason Mandryk, who has a global perspective on both the prayer and mission movements, gives a helpful and needed perspective that also underscores the importance of united, persistent prayer, which like snowflakes accumulating become more and more weighty and can be used by God to change even stubbornly resistant situations and conditions over time. Please let us know what you think.
The year is 1891. It is the First International Convention of the Student Volunteer Movement (SVM). Gathered in Cleveland, Ohio are 6200 fervent students; it is the largest student gathering of its era.
The rallying cry of this convention and indeed of the entire movement is “the evangelization of the world in this generation”, a cry that was repeated across the years to come.
The SVM had been formed specifically for the purpose of mobilising university students into world mission. The evangelistic crusades of D.L. Moody and the campus speaking tours of the renowned ‘Cambridge Seven’ were fresh in the public consciousness of Christians in America and Britain. In the 1890s, missionary leaders such as A.T. Pierson and A.B. Simpson were convinced that the world could be evangelized by the year 1900.
Yet, here we are, 127 years and several generations later, and the world is far from evangelized. Literally millions of missionaries sent across these years, billions of dollars donated, hundreds of Bible translations completed. And yet, 28% of the world can still be considered unevangelized - 2.1 billion people who do not have access to the gospel. What’s more shocking is that the world’s unevangelized population is actually increasing by over 50,000 every day.
During the heady and ambitious days at the turn of the century in 1900, when many thought the Great Commission was poised to be completed, the words of Gustav Warneck, ‘the father of missiology’, must have seemed a rather wet blanket: “Missionary results are not to be reckoned by years but by centuries.” His caution was echoed in 1912 by missionary statesman John P. Jones: “Let us not fall into the error of thinking that Christianizing the nations and bringing the world to the feet of our Lord is the task of a day or of a generation.”
An important lesson, to be sure, but what does this have to do with prayer and intercession?
We live in a fast-paced world. My ‘microwave generation’ expects immediate results for minimal effort. Businesses tend to think in quarterly profits and not long-term strategy. We grit our teeth in frustration if our favourite Netflix episode downloads too slowly or if the pizza takes longer than 30 minutes to arrive.
The stunning Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona, is one of Europe’s iconic buildings. Long queues of people wait to buy tickets to visit its interior every day. Work began in 1886, but it remains incomplete. When pressed on the seemingly interminable project timeline, the architect, Antoni Gaudi, retorted, “My client is not in a hurry.” As with learning a language, mastering an instrument, or building a deep relationship, we know that the greatest accomplishments and most beautiful achievements take time and patience. It is perhaps even more so for the things of God.
Breakthrough in world-changing, nation-shaking, community-transforming ways through prayer and intercession doesn’t happen overnight. This is true for prayer, and it is true for mission. The two are quite intimately and irrevocably connected, after all! Missions works, but it takes time. Intercession brings fruit, but persistence is required.
Hearken back to the year 1900 again. Christians in Africa, Asia, and Latin America (the main mission fields of those days) represented 17% of all Christians. Today, these continents represent 70% of all Christians. The difference is even more pronounced among evangelicals, where these regions account for nearly 80% of the global total.
How did such a monumental shift occur? How did the mission fields of the 1900s become the dynamic centres of global Christianity today? Precisely through the faithful, sustained efforts of missionaries and prayer warriors focusing on the regions for over a century and not giving up. Year after year, day after day, thousands upon thousands of saints, interceding for lost nations and tribes and going to live among them, shining the light into the darkness.
It’s a simple formula. Prayer + mission + time = breakthrough. There are always factors that prevent us from precise spiritual algebra - the fact that the remaining unreached groups are the hardest to reach, the fierce resistance of the Enemy, our own lukewarmness and disobedience, and the mysteries of God’s providence. But the gates of hell will not prevail! “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds.” (2 Cor 10:4)
As we feel our world accelerating into a future marked by uncertainty, we can reliably observe that God is accelerating His own agenda. There is much work to be done - over 7,000 unreached people groups still in need of missions breakthrough. But we can be greatly encouraged by the explosive multiplication of prayer and missionary sending movements from the Global South. Indonesia, Brazil, Nigeria, Philippines, Ethiopia, China, Romania; nations that have for years been mission fields and the subjects of countless prayers are increasingly the powerhouses of global mission and intercession. Missions works. It just takes time.
In 1982, Brother Andrew (a.k.a. ‘God’s Smuggler‘) called for seven years of prayer for the Communist Bloc. Seven years later, the Berlin Wall came down, beginning a chain of events that saw the fall of the Iron Curtain and the opening of previously closed countries to the Gospel.
25 years ago, Christians around the world began to annually observe 30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim world, in conjunction with the dates of Ramadan. Is it any wonder that in these recent years, we are seeing the greatest movement of Muslims to Christ in all of history?
Prayer works. It just takes time.
The mission base in England where I lived for years had beautiful gardens, containing many fine specimens of trees and shrubs from around the world. Among them was a particularly glorious Turkey Oak tree which rose to well over 100 feet in height. It towered over even other arboreal giants; it seemed invincible. One winter we had a particularly cold snap, punctuated by a rare night of snow. A thunderous crack had awoken a number of us in the night. The next morning we were shocked to see that the almighty oak had toppled. Its ancient heart had been revealed as weak and rotten, and the accumulation of snow had added just enough weight through that cold night to bring it crashing down. Which single, tiny snowflake had been the one that had sealed the oak’s fate?
Our prayers are snowflakes. In a cosmic sense, each prayer is virtually weightless, almost negligible. But their persistent, patient, nearly imperceptible but relentless accumulation will, in time, bring down even the mightiest of giants.
