The organisers of the National Day of Prayer have announced plans for a prayer road-show to visit towns and cities across the UK. The road-show is the follow-up to the day of prayer for the nation which brought 30,000 Christians to Wembley Stadium in September. Organisers hope to engage with some of the people who were at Wembley and many more who couldn't make it on the day but have a heart to pray for the nation. Churches are being invited to sign up to host one of the stops on the road-show, which is being run in conjunction with United Christian Broadcasters and the Neighbourhood Prayer Network. 'You came to Wembley and now we would like to come to you,' said road-show organisers. 'Let's work together to reach this Nation for Jesus.' If you want the road-show to come to your town, register at ndopwembley.com/roadshow/
Praise: God for the organisers of the road-show and for many churches to respond to the invitation to host the show. (Mk.16:15 )

Fishing communities in Uganda do not have adequate access to life-prolonging antiretroviral drugs (ARVs), posing a possible setback to the country’s fight against HIV, new statistics reveal. As of June 2012, just 15 percent of 6,225 fisher folk - considered one of the country’s most at-risk populations - in need of ARVs were receiving it, according to the Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC) in its annual review of the Uganda National AIDS Strategic Plan. Officials blamed low literacy among this segment of the population as well as the remoteness and inaccessibility of the islands where many of them are found. ‘Our HIV intervention among the fishing community in Uganda remains low and a big challenge. Most of these people stay in islands, which are hard-to-reach areas. Most of the islands lack health facilities,’ Peter Kyambade, most-at-risk populations coordinator at the Ministry of Health, told IRIN/PlusNews.
Pray: that the authorities will find the necessary funding to reach these remote fishing communities. (3Jn.1:2)

Praise God for this and pray that God will do greater things in the nation.
O Deus, perdoa-nos e sarar a nossa terra! "O GOD! FORGIVE OUR SINS AND HEAL OUR LAND, MOZAMBIQUE!" Condition is critical, delay is dangerous, persistent intercession an urgent need...making disciples-a top priority...in Mozambique.

An Answer to Prayer: President dedicates his nation to God!
Great leaders are prime targets for Prayer. Sometimes they are enemies of Christianity but most of the time they just need the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Like Saul of Tarsus, it is possible for anyone to become a great spokesperson for Christ. However without prayer, it will remain only a possibility. Such has been the case with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda.
Museveni was involved in the war that deposed Idi Amin Dada, ending his rule in 1979, and in the rebellion that subsequently led to the demise of the Milton Obote regime in 1985. With the notable exception of northern areas, Museveni has brought relative stability and economic growth to a country that has endured decades of government mismanagement, rebel activity and civil war. His tenure has also witnessed one of the most effective national responses to HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Behind the scenes many have been praying for him – especially his wife, a devout and dedicated believer, his children, fellow Ugandans as well as many others around the world.
And, as we all know, PRAYER WORKS!
Recently a “Jubilee Prayer Night” was organized by Uganda Jubilee Network, an association of Anglican, evangelical and Pentecostal churches. The network, coordinated by Dr. James Magara of Intercessors for Uganda, has been guiding Christians to fast and pray for Uganda to be a God fearing nation in the next 50 years.
In a Historic moment President Museveni repented for his sins and the sins of Uganda as a nation. He dedicated Uganda to God to be His nation anchored on His principles and values.
The President, indicating that the next 50 years belong to the young generation, advised the young people to be God-fearing referring to the Biblical verse in Proverbs 9:10 which says, “The fear of God is beginning of wisdom.”
President Museveni’s Prayer:
Father God in heaven,
Today we stand here as Ugandans, to thank you for Uganda. We are proud that we are Ugandans and Africans. We thank you for all your goodness to us.
I stand here today to close the evil spiritual past and especially in the last 50 years of our national leadership history and at the threshold of a new dispensation in the life of this nation.
I stand here on my own behalf and on behalf of our past leaders to repent.
We ask for your forgiveness for our own sins, and those of our past leaders:
We confess these sins which have greatly hampered our national cohesion and delayed our political, social and economic transformation:
Sins of idolatry and witchcraft, so rampart in our land
Sins of shedding innocent blood
Sins of political hypocrisy, dishonesty, intrigue and betrayal
Sins of pride, tribalism and sectarianism
Sins of laziness, indifference and irresponsibility
Sins of corruption & bribery that have eroded our national resources
Sins of sexual immorality, drunkenness & debauchery
Sins of un-forgiveness, bitterness, hatred and revenge
Sins of injustice, oppression and exploitation
Sins of rebellion, in-subordination, strife and conflict
These and many others have characterized our past leadership, especially the last 50 years of our history. Lord forgive us, and give us a new beginning. Give us a heart to love you, to fear you and to seek you. Remove far from us all the above sins.
We pray for National unity. Unite us as Ugandans and eliminate all forms of conflict, sectarianism and tribalism. Help us to see that we are all your children. Children of the same Father, help us to love and respect one another and to appreciate unity in diversity.
We pray for prosperity and transformation. Deliver us from ignorance, poverty and disease. As leaders give us wisdom to help lead our people into political, social and economic transformation.
We want to dedicate this nation to you so that you will be our God and guide. We want Uganda to be known as a Nation that fears God. A nation, whose foundations are firmly rooted in righteousness and justice. Blessed is the nation, whose God is the Lord. A people you have chosen as your own. Psalms 33:12
I renounce all the evil Foundations and Covenants that were laid in Idolatry & Witchcraft. I renounce all the satanic influence on this nation.
And, hereby covenant Uganda to you, to walk in your ways and experience all your blessing forever. In the Name of the Father Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
Whenever we pray for people, we can envision the changes that would happen if their energies were redirected toward Christ. NO-ONE is beyond God’s reach, and prayer keeps them within His grasp.

Rejoice and continue to pray for President Museveni, his family and all the people of Uganda as well as for the leaders of your government.
Most Christians believe that sharing their faith with friends is an effective form of evangelism, a new survey suggests. The survey, Confidently sharing the gospel?, was undertaken by the Evangelical Alliance to determine whether Christians are still evangelising in the 21st century. It found a shift in the way that Christians are speaking about their faith, from the open air preaching that typified the evangelism of the 19th and early to mid 20th centuries, to more intimate settings. While only nine per cent said that street preaching was an effective way to talk about Jesus, eighty per cent said that the intimacy of a group of friends was a safer and more effective place to share their beliefs. Fifty-seven per cent said it was their actions that would point people to Jesus, rather than their words, with 55 per cent saying they had seen people come to faith through involvement in community projects like foodbanks.
Pray: for each of us to find our own path to evangelism (Jn.4:40-41)

The British Youth Parliament has rejected campaigning for same-sex marriage, after it came bottom in a vote of priorities for 2013. The issue received just 22 votes, whereas the most popular campaign, a curriculum to prepare young people for real life, got 154 votes. Each year, 11 to 18-year-olds from each part of the UK debate priorities for the coming year in a special session in the House of Commons. George Poole, an 18-year-old openly homosexual MYP (Member of the Youth Parliament) for Cornwall, said that whilst same-sex marriage is an issue “close to home” for him, he needed to “think of the young people who won’t benefit from this policy”. And Jack Lewis, a 15-year-old MYP for Richmond-Upon-Thames, said there are more important issues to be campaigning about, such as youth unemployment. Many have argued that the Government is prioritising same-sex marriage when issues such as the economy are more pressing.
Pray: for the government to note the result of this vote along with the views of so many groups calling for current proposals to be dropped. (Pr.16:9)

The Archbishop of Westminster, the Most Rev Vincent of Nichols, said politicians will fail a “fundamental test of civilised society” if they do not find a solution to funding care for the elderly. He said the current system is leaving many elderly, frail and disabled people struggling to meet their basic human needs and needs “urgent” reform. Highlighting the problems of unemployment, poverty, criminal justice reform and care at a reception in the House of Commons the Archbishop said: “The decisions that will be made in this building over the months ahead demonstrate the importance of this dialogue between those working on the front line to support the vulnerable, and those tasked with crafting legislation. “Perhaps one of the most important areas currently under consideration here is how we care for older and disabled people: a fundamental test of any civilised society.
Pray: for government and society to value and care for the elderly . (Lev.19:32)

There is widespread support in England for teaching Christianity in schools, according to a YouGov poll released by Oxford University. Almost two-thirds (64%) of the more than 1,800 people questioned said that children need to learn about Christianity to understand English history, while more than half (57%) said it was important if pupils are to understand the
English culture and way of life. The poll also revealed that more than two-fifths (43%) of the adults surveyed said that more attention should be given to teaching about Christianity in RE lessons. More than half (51%) also said they felt Christianity distinguishes right from wrong. But just over a third (37%) said they believe that many RE teachers do not know enough about Christianity to be able to teach it effectively. We are often given the impression that teaching about Jesus and His message is old-fashioned and irrelevant. This survey shows that many people value the Christian framework and see the need for Christianity to be taught properly.
Pray: that the results of this poll will lead to the educational authorities taking notice and raising the standards of Christian education in our schools. (Ez.11:12)
