In 2024, Pastor Justin Walker of Salt and Light Church in La Grange, Kentucky, launched Salt and Light Academy with nothing but faith. Within a year, God provided resources, teachers, and students, transforming a former horse auction house into a thriving Christian school. Beginning with kindergarten to sixth grade, the school quickly grew, doubling enrolment and adding seventh and eighth grade, with waiting lists forming. Yet the true impact has been spiritual. Of 65 students enrolled in the first year, six accepted Christ and were baptised; one of them led their entire family to salvation and baptism. Pastor Walker sees America’s 57 million public school students as a mission field, believing secular education often promotes not only spiritual emptiness but also darkness. His vision is to build Christ-centred education that nurtures truth and pushes back unrighteousness. After the personal tragedy of his wife’s death, Walker now leads a growing family and ministry, confident of God’s call to raise disciples through education.

Two weeks ago we joined with American intercessors to pray for a tsunami of prayer to gain momentum and bring positive change in the USA (1 Samuel 2:1). This week we praise God for Holy Spirit changes taking place. For an encouraging video, go to. On it you will see a number of Christian groups holding revival services at the site where George Floyd died in Minneapolis. They are seeing many people turn to God, and miracles are happening in a revival that is reportedly spreading to other USA cities. Could this be an early indication of the promised Great Awakening that we are praying for?

We praise God that hundreds of new Iranian and Afghan believers have been baptised in recent months in cities across the region. In Iran, these include teenagers who were deeply impacted recently by an Elam youth discipleship conference. The baptisms have been occasions of great joy and celebration, often lasting from morning to evening. Over 100 more new believers will be baptised soon at a service in Afghanistan. Please pray that all these new believers will grow in love and knowledge of Christ, and that God will protect them and give them wisdom as they witness to family and friends.
